The Knightly Order in the Kingdom of Ardesca

Made by the Crown of Ardesca, we knights of the phoenix serve at their directive and only for as long as They deem fit. It is our mandate to virtuously serve our Crown to the utmost of our ability. Should They require our courage, we shall spare nothing to offer it, should They require our courtesy, it shall be our constant companion. No matter the virtue that They require, we shall be its exemplar. Should any among us be deemed derelict in Their service it is the prerogative of the crown to remove that unworthy from this order.

Purpose:

The purpose of the Order in the broadest sense is to serve the realm of Ardesca, specifically through service to the Crown of Ardesca. Members proffer them counsel and assist in enacting their will to best grow the peoples and culture of the Kingdom of Ardesca. We serve as exemplars of Ardescan martial culture, showing the best of its prowess, through dedication, demonstration, and honor.

Duties:

  • To better the citizenry in their pursuit of martial prowess, medieval arts, and other recreations as suits the skills and talents of the individual knight.

  • Take those citizens who desire it, and prove themselves worthy, provide respective tutelage. Students taken under selection shall be privileged to be named Man-at-Arms, or Squire, Squire being the more senior position. The details of such service are to be determined by each knight to most benefit the person undertaking this service and improve the kingdom of Ardesca.

  • We shall achieve a high standard of persona, participation, and dress for all events we attend.

Regalia:

The sworn oath of the Knight, born upon armor.

  • When formally addressed we are entitled to be addressed as Sir , and refer to our fellow knights of the phoenix as brothers.

  • As preferred by each knight, a golden phoenix symbolizing service to the crown and kingdom of Ardesca, may be included on a Chain, Belt, and/or Spurs, further modified by the preferences of each knight to best showcase their franchise. It may also be added to any knight’s personal heraldry.

  • As we knights believe status symbols are protected by actions and not laws we will suffer none to bear similar regalia in pretense of belonging to our Order, and will edify the populace as needed.

  • Further, each member of the Order shall, according to their personal franchise, bear upon their person their sworn oath as worded at their admittance. This, so that at any moment a citizen may know our vows.
