Recurring Events, such as fight practices and regular crafting meetups, are now listed!
As a quick bit of background: the event management system of this website is pretty nice, but it only works with one-off events. It’s not the most friendly when it comes to recurring events where we have a single event that happens on a recurring basis. Sure, we can make an event listing for each occurrence, but frankly that’s more work than we want the Web Team to be responsible for. Instead, we’ve been looking into how to list these recurring events so that all of the pertinent information is provided, as well as ways to browse these recurring events to find what you’re looking for.
Access and Use
There are a number of ways you can find these events:
The main way is to navigate to the Events page and navigate down to Recurring Events. This is where you’ll find them all. You’ll see a title which typically includes the name of the event as well as the city/state/country. You’ll also see the category and tags the event is organized into: these can be clicked to further filter the events to find what you’re interested in.
The other way is by browsing the Fiefdoms. For example: If you’re looking at Viadrina’s page, you’ll see their fight practices listed there. And since they are part of an alliance, if you’re looking at the Jarldom’s page, you will see both Viadrina’s and Iron Eagle Island’s fight practices listed together as events within the Jarldom.
Once you’re looking at any recurring event’s page, you’ll note some controls on the right-hand side of the page that will allow you to explore these events by their categories or tags.
Changes
